(FORT WORTH, Texas) Rock-n-roll star Eric Clapton’s American tour will kick off in Fort Worth at Dickies Arena, Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
The Fort Worth show will take place on Sept. 13. At 10 a.m. Friday, the tickets will go on sale via ticketmaster.com as well as Vivid Seats.
Blues rocker and Texas native Jimmie Vaughan will accompany Clapton on tour as a special guest.
After Fort Worth, Clapton’s eight-city tour will have stops in Austin and Houston before ending in Hollywood, Florida. The eight stops will be the only North American shows this year.
According to Rolling Stone, Clapton has not performed publicly since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, but he did collaborate with fellow rock-n-roll star Van Morrison for the anti-lockdown song “Stand and Deliver,” which compares safety restrictions to slavery.
Clapton dipped into controversy again in May when he complained that the AstraZeneca vaccine caused severe numbness in his hands, even though Clapton said he had peripheral neuropathy before he even got the vaccine. Doctors and medical experts said that it’s impossible to know whether the vaccine was responsible for the numbness.
