I don't want to say this place is a must when in San Francisco, but this place is a MUST. It does not get much fancier than having a skilled chef come by your table and carve you off a juicy slice of prime rib. House of Prime Rib serves only the best quality beef. You can choose from their small city cut if you are just looking for a starter or try their King Henry VIII cut which is perfectly described in their menu as “extra generous”. They do offer fresh fish for any guests who are not beef eaters. But for those who are not, this place just may convince you otherwise. Just know that this place is so popular that they have a reservation waitlist that goes for months. So make sure you make a reservation months before if you decide to pay this amazing place a visit. They also have an amazing wine collection, so ask your server to make a recommendation.

What I recommend: King Henry VIII cut because you can eat as much as you want

Location: 1906 Van Ness Ave San Francisco, CA 94109

San Tung

Though their menu has many delicious offerings, I insist that when you visit San Tung on Irving Street, you order their chicken wings. These are not your typical Buffalo style wings in an orange-colored sauce. These savory drums and flats are fried to crispy perfection with just the right amount of seasoning. I have to warn you that once you try these chicken wings, all of the other chicken wings in your life will pale in comparison. It is honestly the best.

What I recommend: 3 orders of their chicken wings

Location: 1031 Irving St San Francisco, CA 94122

Burma Superstar

Not everyone you meet will be able to take a trip to Myanmar to try their colorful cuisine. Since international travel is not always an option, a trip to Burma Superstar may just be the next best thing. Located on Clemons Street, the offerings on their menu as are beautiful as they are tasty. I like to start out with an order of their samusas. These pastries are stuffed with chicken and potatoes and then fried to crispy awesomeness. If you are new to this cuisine, then I recommend their Burmese style curry beef with potatoes and cilantro. Your vegetarian friends will love their eggplant with garlic sauce. Be sure to wash it all down with a cold glass of Thai iced tea.

What I recommend: Green tea leaf salad

Location: 309 Clement St San Francisco, CA 94118

There is not just a lot to do in San Francisco; there is also a lot to eat. Try a traditional prime rib dinner or be a little adventurous and go for a lamb curry. No matter what you choose, you are sure to be pleased with the result. The next time you plan a trip to visit San Francisco, ditch that rental car and travel by foot so that you sure to work up an appetite. You are going to need it.
