There are plenty of people out there who like to make jokes about those who enjoy brunch. Lucky for you, dear reader, I am not one of those people. Brunch is awesome, and it is more than just a meal. It is a time to hang out and catch up with those friends you haven’t seen while also having an excuse to drink a mimosa or a bloody Mary. If you are in the San Francisco area, then you are near some amazing brunch spots that I truly hope you get a chance to visit. Keep reading to learn about the my top brunch spots of San Francisco.

Located on 16th Street, Kitchen Story is a tale you will want to tell to all of your brunching buddies. To this day, it is still one of my all time favorite brunch spots. Though they have all the basics like steel-cut oatmeal and eggs, you will want to begin your meal with a flight of bacon. It comes in flavors such as rosemary or cinnamon. They call it Millionaire's bacon for a reason, it makes you feel like a million bucks. I kid you not, this will be the best slice of bacon you'll ever have in your life! When I visit, I also like to order their open-faced breakfast sandwich. It features a wagyu patty cooked to perfection and topped with mushrooms, spinach, and two sunny-side-up eggs. When it comes to drinks, they have stepped up their mimosa game. Instead of the traditional, try their black currant mimosa instead.

If a fancy, shmancy brunch vibe is just not for you, then you are going to love Sweet Maple. They pride themselves on being unpretentious. Serving up scrambles for over 10 years, they use high quality ingredients in all of their dishes. My favorite item there has to be their curry chicken scramble. It features their house made chicken curry sausage alongside carrots, basil, and shallots. They even offer breakfast pizzas that are also worth the trip. This brunch spot may not be the fanciest of San Francisco, but it is definitely one of the best! To wash it all down, try an ice-cold glass of their fresh raspberry lemonade.

If you have been serving up delicious offerings in San Francisco since the 1950s, then it goes without saying that you are doing something right. Only the best of ingredients goes into their amazing, fluffy omelets. My personal favorite is the South of the Border omelet which is loaded up with beans, salsa, pepper jack cheese, and spicy chorizo. The benedict fans in your life will have tons to choose from. I recommend the North Beach with prosciutto and grilled tomato. For those who are looking for some lighter fare, they offer many crisp and refreshing salads that are sure to please.

I, for one, am rather happy that brunch has been having a sort of a renaissance. It is honestly something that, for me, will never go out of style. Besides, who decided on my behalf that bacon and eggs were only to be eaten in the morning? I never agreed to this, and thankfully, neither did the fine restauranteurs above. If you and a group or your closest friends are looking for a way to spend a late morning on a Sunday, look no further than one of these spots.
