There isn’t enough time in the world to waste doing meaningless things. We are granted “X” amount of time on this planet to accomplish things we want and enjoy things we want to enjoy.

I am so afraid of growing old and wrinkly, only to feel like I didn’t do the things I set out to do at an early point in my life. It’s the fear of regret that scares me into living life to the fullest.

If you’re someone who’s approaching your older ages, you’re slowing down, or running out of time to take risks, then you need to read this message.

Regret is the one thing you can’t undo once it happens.

You can’t undo regret, but you can redeem yourself. The great thing about life is that it’s long, and you have plenty of time to accomplish things you want the younger you are.

If you're in a rough spot of unhappiness, disappointment, and regret, you have to save yourself.

I was attending school to get a mechanical engineering degree I didn’t want. I was following the crowd because I thought that I was a failure if I didn’t attend college. The complete opposite transpired because I joined the army, traveled a lot, and always bet on myself.

If I hadn’t taken a chance on myself and gotten a degree, gotten into student debt, and wasted time partying all the time, I wouldn’t be in a good place.

Trust yourself to make good decisions and grow in your own way.

Trusting others is incredibly tough, especially if you’ve been hurt, betrayed, or done dirty. It’s easy to be untrusting of others. You have to trust yourself.

If you don’t trust yourself, then you’re going to hold back from taking chances. You’ll look back at all the opportunities you watched pass you by.

Now you’re older, wrinkly, have lower energy, and filled with regret. Don’t let yourself get in your own way. Your potential is higher than you think.

You just have to do the leg work, develop a plan, set yourself up, and execute the plan.

Final Thought

Life is too damn short to watch life pass us by. Figure out what matters to you most and prioritize it. Don’t stop until you’re satisfied.

Even when you’re satisfied, keep going. Regret comes in all forms and fashions. If you feel an urge to do something, then do it.

Kiss the distractions goodbye and focus on what you want and what you need to live a life you’re proud of. After all, you only get one. Let’s make it count.
