The ease of rolling over in bed and right into work is one of the easiest things to do. It’s so nice to wake up, walk into the office, and begin working without the commute, having to dress up all spiffy and have lots of interactions.
Since moving out of my parents' home and into my own apartment with my girlfriend, life has been a breeze. Sure it comes with its challenges, but it’s easy because of work from home at the end of the day.
Many offices are returning to the office, and my guess is that many of them are missing certain aspects of work from home.
Here are some of the pros of work-from-home:
- You wake up when you want, even if it’s minutes before your shift.
- You get to make your office into whatever you want.
- You get to eat what you want when you want it during work.
- You get to spend more quality time with your family or significant other.
- You are likely more productive from home because there are fewer distractions.
- You don’t have to deal with people at work, and you get your work done.
Final Thought
Work from home is revolutionizing the world. The internet was created on January 1, 1983. The Pandemic of 2019–2021 is the first time millions of people shifted to work-from-home and will be remembered for a long time.
Don’t get me wrong, I miss certain aspects of commuting to work, seeing my co-workers, and moving around a lot, but I love working across from the love of my life and enjoying every moment.
If you’re someone who likes interactions, then work-from-home probably isn’t for you.
But for all the home-bodies out there who like the convenience and the comfort of their own home, work-from-home will certainly be missed once we all shift back to in-person work or school.
