One of the best dining experiences is to have an excellent meal at an Italian restaurant. It's hard not to crave Italian food all the time, isn't it? I'm sure of it. Illinois has tons of great Italian restaurants. Five of the best in the state were surveyed.

Here are five of the best Italian food restaurants in Illinois:

1. Enoteca Roma Ristorante, Illinois

Chicago's Enoteca Roma offers a taste of Rome. Since the dishes are those the owners learned to prepare in home kitchens back in Italy, they have that authentic, homemade feel. Please take advantage of these last warm days and enjoy dining al fresco - it could be one of the best places in the city to do so. The attentive staff makes the experience even better.

2. Connected Restaurant, Illinois

Peoria's Connected Restaurant offers a beautiful dining area and great Italian food. You can expect to receive excellent service from the moment you sit down to the moment you leave. At the end of the meal, women will receive a complimentary rose and homemade limoncello (delicious). It's like being pampered.

3. Piccolo Sogno, Illinois

Piccolo Sogno has two locations in Chicago and might serve some of the best Italian food in the city. In just a few years, the business has taken off, and it has become a go-to Italian restaurant in Chicago. Food is simple, composed of local ingredients, and paired with fantastic wines. A dining experience similar to that which diners would have in Italy is the goal of the restaurant. Many Chicagoans agree.

The eatery's name, which means "little dream" in Italian, was chosen by partners Ciro Longobardo and Tony Priolo because it had always been their dream to open a restaurant of their own. The Piccolo Sogno restaurant serves fresh, seasonal Italian cuisine paired with an impressive Italian wine list. In the restaurant, they are able to get to the heart of Italian wine and food. Italy is known for its simple food, prepared by hand with local ingredients and served with local wine. That's why people love eating in Italy, and we wanted to bring that experience to Chicago.

4. Boccardi's Italian Imports, Illinois

Italian imports have been available in Springfield for many years thanks to Boccardi's. They added a dining room to the building about a year ago and serve Old World-style Italian food. Enjoy a romantic dinner on the patio in the evening. Even if you are in a hurry, head to the deli for a sandwich or pasta dish. This restaurant is already creating quite a buzz in Springfield, so go check it out for yourself.

5. Barolo Restaurant, Illinois

Boasting authentic Italian cuisine alongside modern American fare, Barolo offers a mix of old and new in Joliet. I'll expect a great steak dinner, even though the atmosphere is European and romantic. Additionally, they serve wild game and good seafood.

What can you say about these amazing Italian restaurants in Illinois? If you have dined with them, please let us know your experience!
