A disturbing fight started between adults while a Little League championship game was taking place in Stanton. The incident took place on Monday night and some of the adults involved could face charges.

How did it all happen?

Based on a Tuesday report from the Lexington Herald-Leader, parents and coaches couldn’t find any way to agree during the championship game in Stanton. Now some of people who got involved in the argument could be charged.

Video footage of the whole incident has incensed many social media users. In the clip obtained by WKYT-TV one unidentified man can be seen throwing his hat on the ground while shouting at the rest of the people. After that, another man starts to rush at the people gathered there.

The news outlet has revealed that the video has been shared on social media with the caption, “It's really sad these kids that played hard all season and put their hearts on that field didn't get to finish their championship game because 'adults' wanted to act like this.”

Jimmy Smith, identified by the news outlet as one of the teams’ coaches, has insisted he played no part in the argument.

“I never touched anyone. Yes, I was upset over a bad call, but I would never do that in front of kids! I will stand up for my team 10/10 times, and you tell me one coach who wouldn't?” he wrote on social media.

“So, I guess the other team didn't like me disputing the call and their coach threw his hat at another coach on my team, and then he got in my face! So, get your facts straight!!! There's a video that shows the beginning of the whole incident so hold tight before you bash me because he clearly came at me along with another coach!”

Steve Randall, identified by the outlet as the other team’s coach, also posted about what happened, saying he and Smith need to meet and work things out.

“At this point all I care about is getting these kids what they deserve. You call me tomorrow and let's schedule a time we can have both teams at the field and hand them their deserved trophy. What you did was wrong, what I did was wrong, and it was a disservice to the kids. We name the Rangers and Reds co-champions and be done with it. You go your way I'll go mine. I will be waiting for your phone call tomorrow,” he posted.

“It needs to be made right for the kids,” he pointed out.

Smith eventually issued an apology on social media.

“I want to start by apologizing for raising my voice and disputing a call at last night's game. I accept full responsibility for my actions, and it doesn't represent the love that I have for coaching the kids in our community. I love all of these kids and enjoy every moment coaching them!”

Stanton Police Sgt. Ian Morton stated that witnesses are currently being interviewed about the incident.

“We're going to speak to everybody that we can. Children's sports leagues are meant to be fun activities where children can feel safe while learning a sport, but more importantly learn good sportsmanship. The display tonight was anything but that,” the Stanton officer said for the outlet.
