(NEW YORK) Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced fireworks will be set off across New York State Tuesday, including at Jones Beach, in honor of essential workers, according to News 12 Brooklyn.
The celebration will start at 9:15 p.m. as New York passes the 70% threshold for vaccinated adults and almost all commercial and social restrictions are lifted.
That means no more capacity restrictions, social gathering limits, social distancing, cleaning protocols and health screening.
Mask mandates will remain in place for public schools, public transit and healthcare settings due to federal restrictions.
Fireworks will also be set off over New York Harbor.
