This year Delaware Shakespeare is bringing a summer season of three exciting events before returning to its mainstage Summer Festival production in 2022. Shakespeare fans are invited to picnic in the park while enjoying programs that allow for social distancing among performers and audience members alike. All events will take place at Rockwood Park in Wilmington.

MIDSUMMER MIX TAPE

“Mark the music!” – The Merchant of Venice

Original music is a magical part of the Del Shakes experience. Join us for a joyful celebration of songs and scenes from past (and future) productions, featuring tunes by Michael Hahn, Liz Filios, Emily Schuman, and Joe Trainor.

ROSALIND X 3

The iconic lead character from As You Like It is explored through three different cultural lenses by three actor/director pairings. Part performance, part artist discussion, this unique program brings three times the joy to Shakespeare’s largest female role.

SHAKESPEARE POETRY SLAM

“I’ll teach you how to flow.” – The Tempest

Rhythm, word play, and metaphor will fly as hip-hop and spoken word artists share creations inspired by Shakespeare. Produced and hosted by Anthem.

All performances will last between 60-75 minutes. Audiences are encouraged to checkout the current COVID-19 protocols for Delaware Shakespeare events, which are subject to change.

Tickets must be purchased in advance, as nightly attendance will be limited due to ongoing social distancing. Pay-What-You-Decide tickets are available in $10, $20, and $30 increments with discounts available for 2-event and 3-event purchases.
