Bounce TV to broadcast 6th Annual Black Music Honors

ATLANTA, GA — In celebration of Black Music Month and commemoration of Juneteenth, Central City Production, a Chicago-based television company, will present the 2021 Black Music Honors.

The celebration and special moments were pre-taped at the City of Winery in Nashville, Tennessee, and will be broadcast nationally from June 5 to July 4. In addition, the program will be on Bounce TV at 1 p.m. EST on Saturday, June 10.

The 2021 Black Music Honors celebrate legendary music icons and acknowledge legendary artists who contributed music to the African American culture and American music worldwide. This sixth annual Black Music Honor is sponsored by AT&T, State Farm, and GM.

The Black Music Honors is hosted by Emmy Award-winning talk show host, comedienne, and author Loni Love with a two-hour special that will honor Black artists and musicians.

This year’s honorees for Black Music Honors are:

  1. Angie Stone, a multiple Grammy Award-nominated R&B legend, will receive the Soul Music Icon Award.
  2. Ginuwine, Grammy Award-nominated singer, songwriter and actor, will receive the Urban Music Icon Award.
  3. Marvin Sapp, a multiple Stellar Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated gospel vocalist, will receive the Gospel Music Icon Award.
  4. Ramsey Lewis, also a Grammy Award-winning jazz virtuoso, will receive the Legends Award.

The Legacy Award will also be awarded to the National Museum of African American Music.

In addition to the amazing honorees and exciting performances this year, we are also announcing that the Black Music Honors will now be held in the month of June. This is an important time for our community as it is officially Black Music Month and our national holiday, Juneteenth. Performers for the evening include Speech, Montell Jordan, After 7, Avery Sunshine, Chrisette Michele, J. Moss, Jac Ross, Jacquees, Kevin Ross, Mumu Fresh, Q Parker, Stokley, Pleasure P, Bahamadia, CeCe Winans, Theresa Tha Songbird, Syleena Johnson, Zacardi Cortez.
