AKRON, OH — After skipping last year due to the pandemic, the Tallmadge Farmers Market comes back this summer with returning and new vendors.

The first incarnation of the event was sponsored by the city back in 2017, and it was held annually since then save last year.

This year, the market will be held starting on Thursday, June 17, and will be continued every Thursday through October 14. It opens from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Tallmadge Recreation Center parking lot. For years, it has been a way to support local businesses and a social gathering for the community.

A variety of products, including vegetables, baked goods, meats, teas, honey, gifts, candles, and art, are available. Many of the products are fresh, homemade, or hand-crafted with care.

Local growers, makers, growers, and other local businesses are encouraged to participate as vendors. Though no fees are required, vendors must register and receive approval in advance. Once registered, vendors may show up every week or adjust their availability. At the last event, there were 10 – 20 vendors each Thursday.

Participants and visitors must adhere to the CDC guidelines for COVID-19 protocols throughout the event, including wearing face coverings when needed and practice physical distancing.

The registration has been opened since May, but they are still accepting vendors. Interested parties can access the printable version of the registration form at https://tallmadge-ohio.org/DocumentCenter/View/725/Tallmadge-Farmers-Market-Vendor-Registration-2021-PDF.
