At 10 am on Monday police responded to a report of gunshots fired at S Park Street and Jack London Alley in San Francisco.

A 911 caller reported that a person had been shot.

Emergency Medical Services were dispatched to the scene shortly after.

About half an hour later, police on scene determined that a man had, in fact, been shot.

Police are searching for a male suspect who is described as 20 to 25 years old and thin-built. He was reportedly last seen wearing a blue-and-black jacket, a black shirt, and black pants.

Officers advised that the suspect fled northbound on foot toward Harrison Street.

Minutes later, police reported that a possible suspect had been detained nearby. This was later confirmed.

EMS personnel transported the victim to an area hospital for further treatment.

Citizen app user video showed an ambulance staging nearby and a scene closed off with crime scene tape.

Police requested additional units to the scene.

Three days earlier, according to CBS, police in San Francisco arrested a man in connection with a deadly shooting in the city’s Tenderloin neighborhood earlier that day.

The person arrested was on parole for voluntary manslaughter.

The identity of the shooter in this instance has not yet been identified. Anyone with information regarding the case should contact the San Francisco Police Department.

So far in 2021 in San Francisco, burglary and assault crimes, as well as arson and motor vehicle theft, are on the rise. Robberies and larceny theft are lower than this time last year.
