After a lively success with his debut track, “Stratus,” on Anjunabeats as part of their ‘Anjunabeats Rising’ series earlier this year, Notaker is back with his new single, “Echelon.” The thrilling new beat by David Nothaker, AKA Notaker, has set the tone for the new year, as the talented DJ also has revealed an arsenal of unreleased music slated for release later this year.

"During lockdown, I've been pushing new boundaries with my productions and have amassed a large amount of unreleased work,” Notaker recently noted of the release of ‘Echelon.’ “As the world re-emerges so will these new records, with 'Echelon' being the first of many."

“Echelon” itself opens with a stellar, somewhat ominous electro riff before shirting into more experimental territory. From the beginning of the track, the sizzling synth line develops and brings into focus more serene atmospheric elements. There is a definitive sense of reflection and introspection in the rhythm, as the midtempo cut breaks into a more raspy kind of riff.

The influence of electronic trance is definitely something of note in “Echelon,” reaffirming Notaker’s affinity for glitch-driven melodies and midtempo swirls. Notaker’s signature otherworldly pulsating synth touch is as versatile as ever, really coming into harmony with the soothing key work as the track goes on. The feeling shifts from introspective to retrospective, until it ultimately blossoms into an uplifting wall of both synth chord and choral work.

From there, “Echelon” bursts into the high energy prowess that defines a full-fledged dance anthem. The utilization of a sharp contrast between the ethereal melodies and abrasive glitches is cutting and so sleek to behold. By the time the track is through, “Echelon” has wound and dove through numerous genres and really showed off Notaker’s adventurous side in a highly successful way.

Based in St. Louis, Missouri, the electronic dance music producer began writing music in 2009 after attending his very first electronic music concert. After downloading the music-making program, Logic Pro, Notaker’s career quickly kicked off and blossomed in part to his tireless devotion to imbuing heavy narrative elements into his many compositions, flourishing into the songs his fans most enjoy.

Notaker’s first major breakthrough came in 2016 when his Monstercat single “Infinite” blew up the music scene overnight and established him as a must-watch artist. Since then, Notaker’s career has grown significantly. After working with Armada Music and mau5trap in 2017, Notaker’s first extended release, “The Genesis EP,” garnered seven-figure streams rapidly through music streaming services and landed him a spot on the popular eSports video game Rocket League’s in-game track list.

In 2018, Notaker released his first mau5trap EP “EREBUS I EP,” which climbed up to number six on iTunes’ Top Electronic Albums chart. With the success of his first EP, Notaker firmly planted his roots in the electronic dance music scene and continued to explore the many genres and subcultures therein. In 2019, he built on this success further with his Monstercat EP, “PATH.FINDER.”

Following a momentary hiatus in the chaos of 2020, Notaker came back to the music scene at the beginning of the new year with “Airlock,” his contribution to the popular yearly mau5trap compilation, “We Are Friends Vol. 10” by renowned electronic dance music DJ deadmau5. “Airlock” officially marked Notaker’s return to mau5trap since his rousing five-track EP, “Erebus I,” in 2018.

Thus far in 2021, Notaker followed up the success of the release of “Airlock” by debuting “Stratus” on Anjunabeats, the artist’s fiery new electro single that is rapidly approaching six figure streaming stats on streaming website, Spotify. His newest song, “Echelon,” is now available across all major streaming platforms.
