Bang Cookies. Have you heard of them? The cookie spot in Jersey City Heights started out in 2016. The owner George Kuan wanted to create the best cookies out there, using all-natural and organic ingredients. He spent over a decade crafting them, before introducing the giant cookies at local farmers markets in Jersey City.
They grew extremely popular in a short amount of time, satisfying the taste buds of local sweet tooths in Jersey City.
The classic
The bestseller at Bang Cookies is no other than the Sea Salt Chocolate Chunk. This recipe uses a mix of white and brown sugar, locally milled organic flour, grass-fed butter, and both milk and semisweet dark chocolate. The cookie is topped with Celtic sea salt harvested from the coastal areas of France. One bite of this and you might be hooked forever. Nothing beats the texture of this one.
That doesn't mean you shouldn't try the other options, though. There are some really creatively made cookies on the menu. If you're over the age of 21, their Bourbon Kitchen Sink is a fairly new addition to the cookie crew. This one is made with organic toffee and organic pretzels, and with organic bourbon! They also have the traditional Kitchen Sink, without the bourbon. This cookie feels like a mix of all things delicious.
An up-and-coming favorite is the S'mores. Slightly crisped, with the taste of marshmallow and chocolate, this version of campfire bliss is made with non-GMO vegan marshmallows, mini organic graham crackers, and a lot of chocolate chunks. This one will bring back good old childhood memories of campfires and summer nights.
Expanding
At the start, Bang Cookies was selling a few hundred cookies per day at farmers markets in Jersey City. Now, just five years later, they make over 20,000 cookies every single month, shipping to cookie enthusiasts all over the country.
In addition to their Jersey City Heights location, they have opened a second spot in downtown Jersey City, and they are not planning on slowing down any time soon.
They are a true local favorite for cookies.
And this cookie spot loves Jersey City and the local community, too. For instance, they sponsor Jersey City Lacrosse, a non-profit organization partnering with the Jersey City Recreation Department to offer lacrosse to the youth of Jersey City, all year long.
