(TEMPE, Ariz.) A 2-year-old drowned in a pool at a Tempe home on Saturday, The Arizona Republic reported.
The incident happened around 8 p.m. at a home near McClintock Drive and Warner Road, according to the Tempe Police Department.
Tempe fire medical crews and Tempe police started to treat the toddler after they were found floating in the pool.
"We are sad to share that the 2-year-old is now deceased," Tempe police Sgt. Steven Carbajal said in a statement.
Information on what led to the drowning was not immediately available.
“We continue to stress the importance of watching kids at all times. One drowning is too many and it can take only two seconds or two inches of water for a child to drown,” Carbajal said.
