WESTLAKE, OH — The Westlake Porter Public Library or WPPL is calling all artist to create artwork as WPPL has recently installed an ArtWalk path between Westlake Library and Westlake Elementary School. The ArtWalk is expected to be a place to exhibit public art in the summer and Westlake School's art during the school period.
This year, WPPL will display art from the community in the ArtWalk or in the Youth Services Department. In June, it will feature artists in grades K-6, and artists in grades 7 to adult for July.
For any prospective artists, they can submit their art followed by a submission form available online. Then, the art should be submitted to the Youth Services Department. The submissions are due by June 22.
Some of ArtWalk Guidelines for prospective artists to note including the accepted works will be featured on the ArtWalk. Art must be an original work of the submitting artists. The art piece must be two-dimensional and 8.5 x 11 inches maximum. If the art is applied, it must be followed by a completed submission form and submitted before or by the due date.
Submitting the art to the library means permission for WPPL to exhibit,
photograph, reproduce and use the submitted work without compensation of any kind for publicity, promotions and other library purposes. The art must be family friendly and appropriate for all ages. The library has no intention to use them for commercial, religious or political purposes. The inappropriate-considered art will not be displayed.
The outdoor area of ArtWalk means the arts will be exposed to weather-related damages. The library will protect the submitted art, but not responsible for any loss or damage. In advance, submitted art will not be returned except any additional arrangements were made during the submission
