According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, veteran wide receiver Jamison Crowder and the New York Jets have agreed on a renegotiated contract.

The details of the renegotiation have yet to be revealed but it will most likely be a decent pay cut on Crowder's end, as the veteran had a lofty cap hit of $11.3 million for the 2021 season. There was much speculation regarding Crowder earlier this offseason and whether the Jets would choose to part ways with the solid slot receiver to free up cap space in a year where the cap was down from the previous year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Reports surfaced on Sunday claiming that the team wanted Crowder to take at least a 50-percent pay cut. Crowder skipped voluntary OTAs due to the ongoing contract dispute.

Despite all the speculation, Crowder will, in fact, remain with New York as he enters the final year of his three-year $28.5 million contract signed back in 2019 with the Jets. Soon to 28-years old and heading into the seventh year of his career, Crowder is currently set to be an unrestricted free agent following the 2021 season.

Drafted by Washington with the No. 105 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, Crowder played the first four years of his career there before leaving to sign with New York. During his stint with the Gang Green, Crowder has caught 137 passes for 1,532 receiving yards, and 12 touchdown receptions in 28 games. For his career, Crowder has caught 358 passes for 4,160 receiving yards, and 26 touchdown receptions.
