(WAYNE COUNTY, Mich.) On Sunday evening in Melvindale, Michigan State Police say six people, including at least one child, are in area hospitals following a crash on the I-75 freeway near Outer Road.
Per Fox 2 Detroit and MSP, at approximately 7:20 p.m. troopers were dispatched to the crash and found a vehicle flipped on its roof with several people trapped inside once they arrived.
Detroit and Southgate Fire Departments cut multiple people from the vehicle.
According to MSP, all six people were transported to either Detroit Receiving Hospital or Children's Hospital. It is unknown how many of the people in the car were children, however, all six are listed in serious or critical conditions.
According to MSP's investigation, it is believed the woman driving the vehicle was driving at a high speed when she lost control of the vehicle, struck the median wall and rolled over.
Police also say that it appears alcohol was also a factor in the crash.
