(THE BRONX, N.Y.) The New York City Police Department distributed photos of a man facing accusations of assaulting and robbing a 13-year-old boy in a Bronx apartment building last month, according to PIX 11.
Officials said the incident took place on May 28 when the unidentified man followed the teen into the building's elevator at the Forest Houses on East 166th Street in the Morrisania section of the borough.
After entering the elevator, the man requested money from the boy, police said.
The boy told the man he had no money, which led to the man striking him in the face, per authorities.
After punching the boy, the suspect looked through his pockets and stole his iPhone and coat, according to the NYPD.
Police said the man exited the elevator on an unknown floor and fled from the scene.
The 13-year-old suffered a bruised lip but turned away medical attention at the scene, officials said.
