ATLANTA, GA — The Gwinnett County Public School is holding a summer learning experience for K-8 students from June 14 to July 20. The Summer Enrichment + Acceleration (SEA) program is designed to help students, while addressing the learning losses that occurred due to the pandemic. The program is focusing on enrichment and acceleration intended to help students to get a head start on next year’s learning.

The overall SEA activities will focus on accelerating and expanding students to learn the current grade and previewing what they will learn in the next grade level. In addition to the acceleration, students will participate in enrichment outside the core subjects, such as engaging in activities and learning offered in Specials and Connections courses.

The SEA Program offers two opportunities; In-Person SEA and Digital SEA.

The in-person SEA program is designed for students who will be more effective if taught in person. This free in-person class is only available by invitations. Classes will be held from June 14 until July 2. Elementary students will start from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and middle school students will attend from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

There will also be Raising K Academy, which is open for children starting kindergarten and the program is available for free.

For students in grades 8 - 12, there will be Career and Technical Education (CTE) Enrichment camps hosted by Duluth High School. It will be a four week-long program where the participants will have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized certification.

Digital SEA Program is open for all GCPS students and it is a self-paced digital format accessible through the Student Portal on the Summer Enrichment and Acceleration E-class page. The digital SEA program will be available from June 14 until July 16.
