The suspect is described as a 20 to 30-year old Hispanic man, 5'2", wearing a black beanie, black bandana on his face, white and black striped sweater, and Adidas striped pants. The suspect was armed with a pistol and was last seen running southbound on Hyde St from Golden Gate Ave.

Mayor Breed recently unveiled a plan to revitalize San Francisco’s downtown area. According to the San Francisco Chornicle, Breed is proposing an expansion of so-called community ambassadors in neighborhoods like Union Square, Financial District, Fisherman’s Wharf and Chinatown. The unarmed ambassadors walk through the neighborhoods and offer people general assistance, and report hazards or emergencies. The idea is to create a “welcoming atmosphere for returning office workers, residents, and tourists in the downtown area and support the reopening of storefront businesses,” the statement said.
