Outdoor dining is one thing but outdoor dining with lake view and the sunset is another! If you have read my previous posts, you can probably tell by now that I'm a sucker for dining outdoors and as long as it is sunny outside, I will always choose that over staying in a closer area. Fresh air and wonderful views of nature are so empowering, freeing, and enjoyable that I would comfortably call that my perfect night out. Luckily here in Webster, we have Ontario Lake, making outdoor dining relatively easy. One of my favorite local places for waterfront outdoor dining by the lake is Castaways on the Lake, located on Lake Rd in Webter, NY.

Castaways on the Lake will make you feel like you are on vacation. The outdoor patio of the restaurant is rather large and fits a large group of guests. If you do choose outdoor dining, you will have peaceful and relaxing view of Ontario Lake while listening to the sound of subtle waves. Not only that but if the skies are clear and you get there at the right time, you will be able to watch the sunset. This is why I think that Castaways on the Lake is a great place for a romantic dinner that will make it seem like you are on vacation while you are there.

The one and only downside of this waterfront restaurant, for me personally, was that most of the dinner options are seafood. This might be great for some, however, since I am not the biggest seafood fan, I had to keep it very basic with Chicken French as my dinner of choice. If you are in fact a seafood lover, there will be plenty of options for you to choose from.
Below are some popular seafood dishes my family members have tried and have absolutely loved:
- Coconut Shrimp
- Alaskan King Crab Legs
- Crab Cakes
- Fried Calamari
- Stuffed Haddock
- Baked Atlantic Salmon
These are just a select few options on the menu that I know for a fact people have enjoyed very much.
If you're like me and do not enojy seasfood as much as other people, while you won't have as many options to choose from, rest assured that there are some non seafood options that include, but not limited to:
- Chicken French
- Pasta Rustica
- Chicken Asiago
- Crispy Organic Baked Chicken
- Chicken Wings
- Steak (Flat Iron & New York Strip)
Please keep in mind that Castaways on the Lake has a lunch and a dinner menu so depending on when you decide to visit, you will get the menu they are serving at the time of your visit.
I highly recommend Castaways on the Lake if your enojy outdoor, waterfront dining. They food and service is on the top of the list of best in Webster but their outdoor patio view is truly unbeatable. I can almost guarantee you'll enjoy your visit in every way possible.
