Glacier National Park is a gorgeous and diverse landscape of rock cliffs, mountain peaks, alpine lakes and dense forests. This wonderful place was designated a national park in 1910 because the harsh conditions make it one of the least accessible areas in America. In order to get to Glacier you have to drive through Canada (imagine that!).

The park spans over 7 million acres along with numerous glaciers, waterfalls, lakes, and mountains and it has a wide range of wildlife including bighorn sheep, black and grizzly bears, and mountain goats.

Going there means you'll be surrounded by thick pine forest and boulder covered forests.

What is really amazing about Glacier National Park is that it balances with nature; everything works together in a way that is beautiful but also dangerous. Because of this, animals have to live through harsh winters and avalanches.  I believe this makes for a great ecosystem to study as opposed to an environment with limited food sources or competition which makes life easier for all living organisms.

Ever seen snow in July? Well, you're definitely up for a treat!

The park is so incredibly overwhelming with its beauty that it takes your breath away by the pure power and magnitude of it all, in a good way!! So, there's no need to worry about running out of breath here, just relax and enjoy the moment.

There are plenty of great places to see in the park including  Apgar Lookout and  Many Glacier Hotel.

One of the best ways to enjoy all of Glacier's beauty is to take a boat ride from  Apgar Village.

This river is so calm and peaceful!

A great place to get an up-close and personal view of the mountains is at  Swiftcurrent Lookout, which overlooks two glaciers, and some surrounding peaks.

The Glacier Skywalk is located at 11,000 feet above sea level. If you make it up there you'll be rewarded with some amazing views. This glass bridge which hangs slightly over a cliff looks down onto the East glacier! It really does look like you can step right out into thin air.

Surprisingly enough this isn't even the highest point in the park (Granite Park Chalet).

Another great place to visit is the  Swiftcurrent Glacier, just another peaceful place to relax in the park.

This area looks absolutely breathtaking, especially at night! It's quiet and ever so relaxing. So, if you have a chance take a look at this area and have yourself some peace and quiet!

The view from the Apgar Lookout is amazing as well!!

I had promised myself that I would give you some photos of flowers because I love them, but they were nowhere to be found on my trip there. But, I'm sure they can be found in another part of the park if you're looking for them.

St. Mary's Lake is another great place to visit. The lake itself is beautiful, but it also serves as one of the park entrances from the Going-to-the-Sun Road.

On my way out of the park I stopped by this rest area which was so beautiful that I felt compelled to capture it for all of you to see. This place was one of the most peaceful that I've ever been in and if you have a chance, you should definitely stop by there if only just to sit for a bit.

Journey's End provided a great picnic area and made me feel right at home as well!

I hope that this post inspires you to go visit this spectacular park. Thanks for taking the time to read about my experience in Glacier National Park. It really was an incredible experience and I strongly recommend that you plan a trip there! I hope that these photos can give you just a small idea of what you'll see when you go. Also, if you have any other questions please feel free to ask them in the comment section below! Thanks for reading!
