Gateway Harbor Canal Concert Series Announces Summer Line-up

One of Tonawanda, New York’s most loved free concert series’ is back for a new season. The Gateway Harbor Canal Concert Series recently announced their 2021 summer season line-up, officially kicking things off June 16 and running every Wednesday through late August.

All concerts will follow New York state and Niagara County Health Department COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, including a limit on the number of attendees allowed. Entry may be denied if Gateway Harbor Park reaches capacity, so if one wishes to attend a specific concert, make sure to get to that show early!

In regard to vaccination restrictions, those who have not yet been vaccinated must wear a mask and must social distance appropriately. No proof of vaccination will be required for entry to the Gateway Harbor Canal Concert Series, but social distancing should be maintained and will reportedly be enforced at the venue.

Those attending any concert that is part of the Gateway Harbor Canal Concert Series are encouraged to bring a lawn chair for seating. There will be a number of food, beverage, and alcohol vendors on site at each concert. No outside food or beverage will be allowed in Gateway Harbor Park during any of the concerts.

Starting things off on June 16 will be Impact, playing at six in the evening, with Myster Jukebox taking the stage shortly afterward at eight in the evening. Myster Jukebox plays the music of Supertramp, Hall and Oates, Journey, Bon Jovi, Huey Lewis, Phil Collins, and the J. Geils Bands just to name a few of the many artists on the talented local band’s roster.

Coming up on June 23 will be Rock Angel, playing at six in the evening, with Kiss This, a full KISS tribute show, coming on after at eight in the evening. Join the Starchild, Kevin Blakita on lead guitar and vocals, The Space Ace, John Jeffrey on lead guitar and vocals, The Fox, Julius Giambelluca on drums and vocals, and the Demon, Taylor Stursa on bass and vocals for a theatrical tribute to rock band KISS.

The following Wednesday, on June 30, at six in the evening will be River Rocks opening for Yachtfathers at eight in the evening. From the creators of Nerds Gone Wild comes a tribute to the best of AM Gold and soft rock hits from the seventies and eighties, Yachtfathers.

On July 7 at six in the evening will be Lithium, followed by Classic Rock All Stars at eight in the evening. Join vocalist Phil Naro, guitarist Michael Hund, drummer Ron Rocco, and bassist Michael Mullane for a night of classic rock hits.

Coming up on July 14 at six in the evening will be Allykat, followed by The Chicago Authority at eight in the evening. The Chicago Authority is a tribute band to the band, Chicago, and will play a number of the classic rock band’s hits.

Taking place on July 21 at six in the evening will be Sudden Urge, followed by Flip Side at eight in the evening. Flip Side, voted Buffalo’s best classic pop band, promises a night of high energy rock, dance, and party tunes.

Rounding out July on July 28 at six in the evening will be 1980 Something, followed by Nerds Gone Wild at eight in the evening. The award-winning Nerds Gone Wild are back for a new wave show featuring all the classic eighties groups, like Devo, Duran Duran, and Flock of Seagulls just to name a few.

Hitting the stage on August 4 at six in the evening will be Past Masters, followed by The Fleetwood Mac Experience at eight in the evening. Winner of the 2015 and 2016 Buffalo Night Life Music Award for Best Tribute Band, The Fleetwood Mac Experience is made up of several incredibly talented Western New York musicians who play the very best of Fleetwood Mac.

On August 11 at six in the evening will be Steel Horse, followed by West of the Mark at eight in the evening. Join award-winning Buffalo country band, West of the Mark, for a night of modern country at its finest.

Taking place on August 18 at six in the evening will be 22 Calibre, followed by Coda at eight in the evening. Performing two ninety-minute sets, Coda’s tribute to rock and roll legends Led Zeppelin promises to take the audience on a journey through the legendary band’s discography and back again, featuring Jonathan Connors on guitar, Michael McGuire on vocals, Dan Delano on organ, Mike Lorenzo on bass, and Jeff Schaller on drums.

Closing things out for the Gateway Harbor Canal Concert Series on August 25 at six in the evening will be Red Rain, followed by Hit N Run at eight in the evening. Join Buffalo rock band Hit N Run as they perform classic rock hits from bands like Foreigner, Rush, and Van Halen just to name a few.
