Friends and family of a missing California college freshman held a vigil Thursday afternoon in North Carolina to draw attention to the case of 19-year-old Sydney West, who hasn’t been seen in more than two weeks.
West, from Chapel Hill, North Carolina, was in California to attend the University of California-Berkeley. She was last seen on September 30 in the area of Crissy Field, a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area that was once an Army airfield, as CrimeOnline previously reported.
West’s parents, Jay and Kimberly West, released a video appeal for information about their daughter last week.
“We love Sydney,” Jay West said in the video, which was released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office. “We miss Sydney, and we want more than anything for her to be found safe and brought back to our home.”
