CLEVELAND — The Fine Arts Association will be holding a theatrical performance, “Modern Warrior Live: the story and sound of a combat veteran’s journey” by musician Dominick Farinacci and military veteran Jaymes Polling on June 11 to 13.

This program is supported by the National Endowment for the Arts with a $10,000 grant, making FAA the 1st round recipient of the award.

The film is intended for veterans, active military and their families, health professionals, high school students, and others interested in the health and well-being of our veteran populations.

This film aims to encourage conversation about challenges faced by veterans and get rid of stigma about veterans as victims by focusing on shared human experiences.

The performance will be through a series of screenings in the Corning Auditorium, located at 38660 Mentor Ave., Willoughby.

In each of the showings, there are educational materials and resources available to access in the lobby from the following organizations: Lake County Board of DD, Deepwood Industries, Lake County ADAMHS Board, Crossroads Health and US Department of Veterans Affairs.

There will also have art and music programs available to meet the needs of veterans and their families.

Interested parties can check the schedule at https://www.fineartsassociation.org/events/.

Currently, the seats are limited due to keeping the social distancing. Interested parties should get their ticket in advance by calling (440) 951-7500 ext. 100 or purchase in-person at FAA’s Customer Service desk.

It costs $15 for general admission and free for veterans, although veterans still need to call to reserve their seats.

Donation is also available to support a scholarship for veterans. It will help them participate in specially designed music and art programs and services through our Creative Arts Therapies department.
