The quaint village of Blissfield, Michigan will be hosting their 37th Blissfield River Raisin Festival Thursday — Saturday July 8–10, 2021. These three days of free family fun takes place on the shores of River Raisin in Ellis Park and Bachmayer Park. There is no admission charge and free live entertainment such as music, a kayak race, a tractor pull, and activities for children. A huge fireworks show will light up the sky Friday evening. It’s no wonder it has been voted the Best Festival in Lenawee County several times.

On Saturday, July 10th, there will be a parade beginning at the high school at 10:30 AM. It will turn on Beamer Road to Lane Street and wind through downtown Blissfield. It will make a right at US-223 and then head down Depot Street, Sugar Street, and then back to the front entrance of the high school. The parade route is about 1.3 miles long.

The festival will also invite finalists of the Inaugural River Raisin Festival Battle of the Bands to play half hour sets (with 15 minutes to set up and 15 minutes to tear down) on Saturday from 12 PM — 6 PM. There will be mystery judges and cash votes from the crowd to determine the winner-take-all $1,000 prize.

The Miss River Raisin Scholarship Program will hold a pageant on Saturday, the time is TBD. They have awarded young women in Lenawee County thousands of scholarship dollars over the years. This pageant is the only Miss Michigan/Miss America qualifying event in Lenawee County. Due to Covid, the last titleholder was Sydney Papenhagen in 2019.

Blissfield visitors can stroll through the rows of craft vendors, munch on fair food, and sip on something cool in the beverage tent. There will be plenty of things to do for everyone in the family. The festival hours are Thursday, July 8th 5 PM — 11 PM, Friday, July 9th 12 PM — 10 PM, and Saturday, July 10th 12 PM — 10 PM.
