(PLEASANTON, Calif.) A sweeping proposal aimed at turning a rural portion of the East Bay into the next Silicon Valley offshoot lays out a lot of work for regional leaders as they aim to meet the business and infrastructure goals set before by "Tri-Valley 2040."

Innovation Tri-Valley Leadership Group (ITV) — a vague joint partnership aimed at stregthening technology companies' footprints in Dublin, Livermore, Pleasanton and Dublin — is leading the push to gather more technology companies in the Tri-Valley as a way to stimulate the economy for decades to come.

ITV's Board of Directors is staffed by a number of research and banking experts including Rich Rankin of the Lawrence Livemore National Laboratory, Mark Triska of Colliers International, Steve Lanza of Lam Research and a number of others. ITV CEO Lynn Wallace Naylor was the executive director of World of Children from 2007 to 2017.

"The 2040 plan sets a strategic direction for the future that positions the Tri-Valley as a center for innovation," Naylor told The East Bay Times.

Naylor noted that a the initiative would aim to bring a variety of companies to the Tri-Valley from life sciences to software.

She also admitted that the vision includes huge overhauls to the infrastructure of the area saying that in order to attract the businesses and workers they want, there would need to be more walkable communities and business parks.

A full report on "Tri-Valley Vision 2040" can be found here but more specifically the intiative looks to shift the mostly rural suburban communities of Dublin, Pleasanton, Livermore and to a lesser extent Danville and San Ramon into hubs for newer companies. The hope is that by doing so it will attract a younger group of residents and thus provide the area a revitilization needed to maintain economic prosperity.
