In the last couple of days there have been a series of crimes involving stabbings and shootings in the Denver metro area, and in the city of Arvada.
The series of events began early Thursday morning when a man was stabbed near 20th and Broadway. The man was immediately hospitalized with what the police have confirmed to be serious injuries. After the stabbing, a person was shot on E. Dartmouth Ave and was also taken to the hospital. As of now, Denver police have not confirmed that there was an arrest in either the stabbing or the shooting.
The violence continued as later on during the afternoon on Thursday, there was a shooting on the 3600 block of Morrison Road in the Westwood neighborhood and three people were hospitalized. This morning, Denver police announced that two of the victims had died. The other victim remains hospitalized and there has been one person arrested according to the Denver police.
In Arvada, on Thursday evening two individuals were shot in a series of gunfire rounds near the Secrest Recreation Center during a vigil. Police have said that they believe over 30 rounds were fired in the shooting which is still being investigated.
Just after 1:00AM this morning, police confirmed that one man had been shot near the intersection of Park ave. and Curtis Street in Denver. By 9:00am this morning the man passed away and one other man has been hospitalized since that particular shooting.
As of now, Police have not released further details around the incidents. This is an ongoing investigation and more details will be released to the public as they are uncovered.
