It's a journey for the senses and a decidedly upscale answer to the region's more typical mall store fragrance offerings.

If there's one thing Hudson, New York is known for, it's attracting a bevy of creative types seeking refuge from the big city chaos about two hours to its south by car. Christopher Draghi and Robert Dobay were lured up by Hudson's charm in 2015, when they decided to launch their luxury American fragrance house, source adage fragrances, in a string 1830s Greek revival building in what is now a bustling little getaway city in New York's always-charming Hudson Valley.

The store now crafts and sells a variety of eau de parfums, candles, and apothecary products locally, priding itself on the use of powerful, high-quality ingredients to create luxe aromatic experiences.

"I was introduced to scent design while working for luxury hospitality brands, and it really fascinated me how much power a scent could have on someone’s experience," Draghi says of his venture into the world of fragrance. "It spurred a curiosity in me that I’m glad to share with Robert. Creating our scents in-house and testing everything ourselves is what we love most of all. Creating a unique experience is so important to us.”

The fun-to-shop store is open six days a week and offers an updated, modern design that riffs off the building and area's rich histories and culture throwbacks. It's a pleasant, upscale departure from the strip centers and mall stores that dot the Hudson Valley region, and a quaint take on New York City's Greenwich Village vibes of yesteryear with a splash of everyone's favorite doses of Rose Apothecary a la Schitt's Creek.
