ATLANTA — Muslims have been a part of American society for a long time. For many of them, it could be hard to find places to eat that accommodate their practices.

Below, we have provided our Muslim brothers and sisters with a list of the top five best Halal restaurants in and near Atlanta. Let’s dig in!

1. Tannour Mediterranean Grill

“Perfect for grabbing quick takeout lunch during workdays! I’ve had this place via catering at events but have never ordered just for myself before.

I ordered via grubhub for pickup and order was ready on time. They still have dine in right now, but I felt safe walking in for pickup and workers are wearing masks. There’s also complimentary parking as well.

Portion sizes were great!! I got the falafel plate and it came with falafel, rice, and sides of taboulleh salad, and hummus, as well as several sauces. Really good value for what you pay, and tasted good too!” - Alicia C. on Yelp.

Location: 398 14th St NW, Atlanta, GA 30318, Westside/Home Park, Georgia Tech

2. BurgerIM

“The Halal branch of this franchise does not disappoint. The burgers and fries were absolutely phenomenal. We ordered to take away, and our order was made right away and ready early. The burgers were perfectly cooked, and the fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Sooo good!!” - Huda A. on Yelp

“When you first walk in, Karv has tall ceilings and booth style seating with outlets for those that want to plug in while they eat/drink. There is the main food ordering station, and a second one that offers greek donuts, ice cream and beverages.

I absolutely loved my meal, the Horta is filled with deliciously seasoned veggies and the meat was flavourful as well. All the food we ordered was made fresh, and every they did not cut corners with the ingredients. Our meal was about $36 with tip, which was well worth it for the quality and my bowl has lasted me two meals!” - Steffi M. on Yelp.

Location: 2929 N Druid Hills Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30329

3. Aviva by Kameel

“... Stepping inside I was greeted with a warm smile by the server. In short she was kind and efficient, making suggestions as to what to add to my dish. I ultimately decided on the falafel salad and my wife went with the chicken shawarma.

Before I checked out, the cashier enticed me with a free sample of watermelon or marzipan cake. If you have the option, go with the cake! It was deliciously moist and flavorful, I could have eaten an entire loaf!

As for the entrees all I have to say is WOW!! I can’t remember falafel tasting this way before Aviva. The spices blended perfectly with the chickpeas. To my understanding they are cooked in olive oil, that’s a game changer! The remainder of my salad was to die for, from the leafy greens to the tabbouleh salad.

My wife thoroughly enjoyed her chicken as well, she noted that it was very flavorful. Aviva is definitely a diamond in the rough that you need to check out if you are ever in Atlanta!” - Michael D. on Yelp.

Location: 225 Peachtree St NE, Ste B-30, Atlanta, GA 30303, Downtown

4. Warung Indonesia Halal

“A Unique Play of Flavors. An epic feast packed with spices, savory and sweet. Friendly, quick service and all halal makes for a great place for family dinners. A bit pricey in my opinion but for every once in a while, it’s good. Indonesian food is just beyond tasty and is reminiscent of some of the Bangladeshi foods I grew up eating.” - Rezwan R. on Yelp.

Location: 5382 Buford Highway NE, Doraville, GA 30340

5. Karv Kitchen

“Karv Kitchen is an awesome twist on Mediterranean food! Located in Chamblee, you can find free parking in the attached garage or across the bridge near the other businesses.

When you first walk in, Karv has tall ceilings and booth style seating with outlets for those that want to plug in while they eat/drink. There is the main food ordering station, and a second one that offers greek donuts, ice cream and beverages.
