HOUSTON — Amazing Place Houston is a faith-based organization governed and guided by the churches. The organization strives to empower lives affected by dementia and to end the stigma of dementia. They also offer programs that help people living with the ailment.

The organization provides options such as the in-person day program and virtual activity program, where staff will work with participants to build meaningful relationships and strengthen the mind.

Not only does the organization help people with dementia, but they also provide a variety of educational programs and support services for their partners, caregivers, families, and friends. Caregivers can take classes such as Amazing Place Houston Savvy Caregiver Programs and Stress-Busting Program for Family Caregivers, led by trained professionals. Educational forums and monthly support group sessions are offered both virtually and in person.

Amazing Place also partners with local universities and home care providers to educate clinicians on the care of older adults with light to severe dementia. Their 90-minute virtual training is designed for home health aides who provide dementia care in the home setting. The program aims to equip home healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills needed to effectively care for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other types of dementia by discussing the most common challenges that appear with dementia care, including managing communication and behavioral challenges.

Amazing Place Houston hires professionals in participant programs, health services, family services, and culinary services. Every member of the Amazing Place works together to ensure they face challenges with compassion and integrity.
