MENTOR, CLEVELAND — There is always something to do in Mentor. The city hosts over 40 events each year for all interests and ages. Here are five of the events that you’re going to want to mark on your calendar.

HEADLANDS BEACHFEST

The city will be having “the ultimate beach party” on Saturday, July 17, 2021, from 11.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. It will feature arts-and-crafts vendors, all-day entertainment, family-friendly activities, and food trucks.

World-class sand sculptors will also be available to charm attendees with their dazzling work. Headlands Beach State Park is located at 9601 Headlands Rd. Learn more at www.headlandsbeachfest.com.

INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Celebrate Independence Day at the Amphitheater with a performance by country superstar, Daryll Worley, followed by a magnificent 25-minute fireworks display after the concert.

Worley is notable for his down-to-earth, soulful vocal style and traditional country roots. The Tennessee native’s career has extended over three decades with 20+ songs on the Billboard Country Hot 100, which include number-one hits “Awful Beautiful Life”, “Have You Forgotten”, and “I Miss My Friend”. Grounds open at 6.00 p.m.

MENTOR CRUISE-IN

Mentor Cruise-In has amazed crowds for nearly 20 years. Now, it’s bigger and better than ever with over 800 cars, 2,500 spectators, food, refreshments, and live entertainment.

This year’s event will take place on Saturday, August 14, 2021, from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. at Mentor Civic Center Park. Learn more at www.mentorcruisein.com.

MENTOR ROCKS

The popular Mentor Rocks summer concert series is held Tuesday evenings at the Mentor Civic Amphitheater June 1 - August 31, from 7.00 p.m. to 9.00 p.m. This year’s schedule includes rock legend Lita Ford and 90’s alt-group Cracker, as well as the nation’s best tribute bands.

Mentor Rocks is an all-ages event that promotes a festival-like environment each week. Attendees can enjoy a wide choice of food and an assortment of beers and wines from area vendors. The venue has lawn seating, so bring your blankets or chairs.

No outside alcohol is allowed. Coolers will be checked at the gate. Grounds open at 5.00 p.m. The Mentor Civic Amphitheater is located at 8600 Munson Road. More info at www.mentorrocks.info.

TUNES AT THE LAGOONS

Relish “Tunes at the Lagoons” as some of the area’s greatest local bands bring live music to life from 7.00 a.m. – 9.00 p.m. every Saturday this summer at the Mentor Lagoons Marina.

Participants can also enjoy refreshments and food from local food trucks, as well as a selection of alcohols for those who are 21+. The Mentor Lagoons Nature Preserve & Marina is located at 8365 Harbor Drive.
