Palm trees and golf courses are famous in Florida, also known as the sunshine state. In addition to having over 21 million residents, the country has an excellent quality of life for residents of all ages and is one of the most livable markets in the world. There are many memorable tourist events and beautiful shorelines to thank for this. In Florida, there are many attractions in every part of the state, such as Disney World and Miami Beach. Seniors also consider it to be the best place to relocate as it makes a great place to retire to. Every day, Florida is a popular place to live for a variety of reasons. It doesn't matter what kind of living situation you prefer, there are countless real estate options. Many parts of Florida are consistently rated as great places to raise a family. Consider these best and worst things of living in Florida if you are considering moving there.

Here are the pros of living in Florida:

1. Protection of your financial assets

According to the Florida Move Guide, Florida (and Texas) have laws designed to better protect their citizen's homes and other assets than most other states. As a result, establishing your primary residence in Florida may be an additional reason to become a resident if you have a high net worth or nothing but want to stay within the state's most important laws to protect what you have.

2. Florida has the best roads in the USA

Are you tired of constantly hitting body-jarring road bumps? Florida may be right for you since its roads are flat, straight, smooth, and pothole-free. After all, no freezing and thawing effect can wreak havoc on roadways.

Let us have a look at the cons about living in Florida:

1. Florida is known for having terrible drivers

There may be a lot of elderly drivers with licenses in Florida, but I'm not saying they're all bad drivers. There are people who drive slowly and don't realize their blinker has been on for an hour or so. In addition, there are another 110,000,000+ tourists who travel to Florida and rent cars. Neither the road nor the car they hired are familiar to these drivers. They may not even know what the road signs mean or how to read them. In addition, many tourists like to enjoy alcohol during their stay in Florida and then drive their rented cars. Again, I'm not saying all tourists drive recklessly, but the number of accidents and resulting traffic jams have increased dramatically in recent years.

2. Higher risk of natural disasters

Florida has great reasons why a home is more expensive to insure than anywhere else in the country. Hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, flooding, droughts, and other disasters can disrupt the lives of residents. Although we vacationed in Florida several times a year for decades, we were never affected by any disasters. Living in Florida full-time is not the same as taking short vacations. In the same way that you can reduce or eliminate the negatives of Florida's high crime rate and low healthcare quality ranking, you can also lower the risk of natural disaster based on where you choose to relocate to Florida, according to the Florida Move Guide.

Bonus: Here are more fun facts about Florida:

  2. The United States city with the highest rate of lightning strikes per capita is Clearwater.
  3. Gatorade was named for the University of Florida Gators, where the drink was first developed.
  4. Young aviator Tony Jannus made history on January 1, 1914, when he flew the world's first scheduled passenger service airline flight from St. Petersburg's downtown yacht basin to Tampa.
  5. Dr. John Gorrie of Apalachicola invented mechanical refrigeration in 1851.
