The family of the 14-year-old girl who was assaulted 25 times says this was a random attack in Fargo. A homeless black man has been arrested by the officials for the crime, as The Blaze reports.

What are the details?

Robert Paulsen said for the news outlets that his daughter, Daisy "Jupiter" Paulsen, was on her way to her mother’s house on Friday. She was skateboarding when the sudden attack occurred. It happened in the parking lot of a mall.

Fargo Police have arrested 23-year-old Arthur Prince Kollie for the assault. He was initially charged with attempted murder, robbery and aggravated assault.

The officers said that when they arrived at the location of the attack a garbage man told them that he had witnessed the suspect leaning over the victim and covering her nose while holding her neck. The video surveillance obtained by the police showed that Kollie had allegedly assaulted the girl for 25 minutes before backing off and running away.

The girl’s parents revealed that her backpack and cellphone were gone.

Next stop was at Walmart

The investigators said that the homeless man was later seen inside a Walmart store, grabbing clothes and quickly changing into them. His discarded pants and shoes were later found smeared with red liquid on them.

Later, when he was arrested, Kollie told the police that he had taken methamphetamine at noon on Thursday and hadn’t slept at all since the last dose. He also claimed that he suffers from multiple personality disorder, anxiety, and depression, as The Blaze points out.

In the court documents it is stated that Kollie did not remember attacking the girl at all, but that there were several fresh cuts on his hand.

When he was charged he replied, “attempted murder, as is she alive? Or what? What does attempted murder mean?”

Daisy Paulsen passed away because of the injuries sustained in the Fargo incident on Tuesday.
