What's there to discover in Chandler, Arizona?

This city, although smaller than Phoenix and Tucson, has plenty of interesting places to offer, from parks to restaurants to... you guessed it, museums.

Personally, museums are great places to visit because you get to learn something new while also enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and having a good time. Museums are full of exciting knowledge that can enrich your worldviews and life philosophies.

What's more, there are plenty of museums that focus on specific topics as well as broad subjects, which means that basically anyone can find a museum they like.

And what interesting museums can you visit in Chandler, Arizona? Well, let's have a look! The following museums are some of the great educational places you get to visit in Chandler.

Chandler Museum

First and foremost, let's have a look at the Chandler Museum, which is considered to be a fantastic cultural destination in Chandler. That's because you get to explore many various exhibits in the Chandler Museum, relating to topics such as history, art, or culture. What's more, the exhibits are local as well as national, which provides the visitor with a broad scope of work!

According to Chandler Arizona:

"The museum is a 10,000-square-foot facility just north of the historic McCullough-Price house with nearly 13,000 square feet of outdoor spaces, including a 10,000 square-foot courtyard that ties the two buildings together and provides a shaded gathering place for visitors and outdoor programming. Renovations to the historic house created a formal state-of-the-art research and archive site for the Museum while maintaining its status on the National Register of Historic Places."

And what exhibits can you explore in the museum? Well, there are about 6-8 exhibits every single year. Some of the current exhibitions (at the time of writing this article, 9th June 2021) include "Bigger than Boxing: Zora Folley and the 1967 Heavyweight Title" or "Black and White in Black and White: Images of Dignity, Hope, and Diversity in America".

If you'd like to visit the Chandler Museum, don't hesitate to head to 300 S. Chandler Village Drive in Chandler. When it comes to ticket prices, there are none - you can enter the museum for free!

Arizona Railway Museum

Another interesting museum worth visiting in Chandler is the Arizona Railway Museum. If you're interested in transportation, this might be the perfect place for you! You will get to learn more about this topic in the Arizona Railway Museum, that's for sure.

Founded in 1983, the museum is a historical and educational non-profit organization. It focuses on the railways of the Southwest as well as Arizona itself. In the museum, you get to explore all sorts of things connected to railways, such as artifacts or mementos.

The official website says:

"The Arizona Railway Museum is a community effort towards the acquisition, restoration, preservation and display of railway equipment, artifacts and mementos related to railways of the past and present. All restoration efforts are funded solely from membership dues and public contributions. The Museum is a Non-Profit Organization (501-C-3 in IRS terms)."

The museum actually has over 37 thousand artifacts related to railways! That's pretty impressive, if you ask me.

If you'd like to visit this museum located in Chandler, write it on our list of places to visit in the fall - the Arizona Railway Museum is actually closed during the summer because the weather is too hot. The place opens on 4th September 2021, so don't hesitate to visit in the fall!
