HOUSTON — The University of Houston-Downtown will be hosting its second vaccination event on campus this week. Partnering with H-E-B, UHD offers the first doses of the Moderna vaccine to students, faculty, staff, and students' family on Wednesday, June 9. The university will hold its second vaccination event will on Wednesday, July 7, 2021,

For the first batch on June 9, the prospective participants must register for the event first by online registration on heb.secure.force.com. The deadline is 8 a.m. on the same day. Vaccines will be given from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at UHD's Welcome Center today. Everyone who signed up for the event will be entered into a raffle to win an Amazon gift card.

The University of Houston-Downtown strongly advises anyone who has yet taken the vaccine shot to enroll themself in the upcoming event. If any registered participants cannot attend the UHD/H-E-B vaccination event on campus, they can seek the vaccine from their primary healthcare provider in the Houston area.

In collaboration with UTHealth, UHD will ensure its community is getting the vaccine. UTHealth will be administering the Pfizer Vaccine seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., on the Vaccine Clinic at the UTHealth Cooley University Life Center at 7440 Cambridge St., 77054.

The campus has started to return to its offline classes. This vaccination event is an excellent opportunity for the community to take part in mitigating the spread of COVID-19, besides self-care such as washing hands, social distancing, and wearing masks.
