The city is named Sugar Land due to the sugar plantations in ancient times. This is one of the fastest-growing cities in the state of Texas with a population of 118,488. The city is home to imperial sugar industries and petroleum exploration industries that contribute mainly to its economy.

With the beautiful landscapes and architecture, the city has provided great locations for many movies, also many true stories that have happened in this city have been turned into movies. Some of them are listed below;
