ATLANTA — The Atlanta Braves will celebrate the 2021 Hank Aaron Weekend presented by Delta Air Lines from July 30 to August 1 after the team faces the Milwaukee Brewers. The Hank Aaron Weekend showcases the standard of excellence by Hank Aaron on his struggle in the fields, a form of honor for his place in baseball history, and his work on social, civil, and human rights.

Launched in January 2021, the Henry Louis Aaron Fund aims to honor Hank Aaron’s memory by providing access and chances highlighting sports, business, education, social and racial equality. The theme for 2021 Hank Aaron Weekend is a reflection of his work in the community and sports. The Atlanta Braves Foundations’ 50/50 Raffle on the weekend results will be given to the Henry Louis Aaron Fund to maintain and support the growth of diversity in baseball, on and off the field.

“Hank Aaron Weekend has always been a cherished tradition, and this year it will be even more meaningful as we remember our dear friend,” said Derek Schiller, Atlanta Braves President & CEO. “His impact on the game of baseball is unparalleled, particularly his work to empower Black youth and fight for equity and diversity on and off the field. We are honored to promote and further his legacy during Hank Aaron Weekend and always.”

The schedule for the Hank Aaron Weekend is:

1. Friday, July 30, 2021

A celebration of Hank Aaron through the lens of Black baseball will be held, honoring his baseball legacy and investment in the future of baseball for African-Americans.

2. Saturday, July 31, 2021

The Braves, in collaboration with Major League Baseball (MLB) and the Major League Baseball Players Association (MLBPA), will host the top 44 elite high school baseball players from the Hank Aaron Invitational for a special showcase game on Saturday, July 31 at Trust Park.

The players selected are based on their performance during the Jackie Robinson Training Complex in Vero Beach, Fla., a week prior. The Jackie Robinson Training Complex will also host this premier development experience.

The Hank Aaron Invitational is an annual event featuring the top 200 high school-aged players from around the U.S, supported by USA Baseball and the MLB-MLBPA Youth Development Foundation.

Additionally, during Saturday’s Braves-Brewers game, the Braves will highlight Aaron’s Chasing the Dream Foundation and its endeavor to support youth development.

3. Sunday, August 1, 2021

A limited-edition Hank Aaron bobblehead figure will be given for the first 15,000 fans in the Truist Park entrance. Three designs represent a milestone in Aaron’s career; 1952 Indianapolis Clowns, 1957 World Series Championship in Milwaukee, and 1974 715th home run.

Interested fans can visit www.braves.com/hankaaronweekend to purchase the ticket package, which includes a Hank Aaron Weekend game ticket, a specialty Hank Aaron “Keep Swinging” t-shirt, a $3 donation to the Henry Louis Aaron Fund, and a ticket to the Hank Aaron Invitational.
