(DALLAS) Dallas-based attorney Brian Cuban, who is also the brother of Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, is supporting a Texas bakery that received backlash for advertising Pride-themed cookies, The Dallas Morning News reports.

Last week, the Lufkin bakery called Confections posted on Facebook a picture of heart-shaped cookies with rainbow frosting and the caption, “More LOVE. Less hate. Happy Pride to all our LGBTQ friends! All lovers of cookies and happiness are welcome here.”

In response, people unfollowed Confections’ Facebook page, and someone canceled a large order with the bakery, which is located in east Texas.

However, the backlash was followed by a wave of support after Confections made a statement about its troubles stemming from the rainbow cookies post. People came in droves to buy cookies from the bakery, forcing them to sell out on Friday and Saturday.

“In the 11 years we’ve been open we’ve never seen anything quite like this,” Dawn Cooley, co-owner of the bakery, posted. “We (my sister and co-owner Miranda and our fabulous baker Felicia) are just so humbled and grateful and moved by this outpouring of love.”

Brian Cuban was one of Confections’ supporters. Since the bakery doesn’t ship its cookies, Cuban offered to purchase $100 worth of the Pride cookies, which he asked to be donated to a local children’s charity.

“Many of us realize that that’s one battle and the fight doesn’t end for equality,” Cuban said to The Dallas Morning News. “It’s an every day, every moment thing.”
