ATLANTA - Bryce Washington has just signed with Atlanta United as a Homegrown Player through the end of the 2022 season and options through 2025. After leading the Academy’s inaugural U-18s in minutes during the 2016-17 seasons, Washington played at the University of Pittsburgh and Rutgers University over the last four seasons.

“Bryce was one of the top NCAA players in the country last year and we’re really excited to welcome him back to the club,” Said the Atlanta United Vice President and Technical Director Carlos Bocanegra.

He adds that each player has a different development process, and Bryce’s progress brought him the opportunity to play regularly for years at a top-level collegiate. With the new position, Bryce will undoubtedly continue to grow, especially with more playing time

The 22-years old player spent two college seasons at Pitt and helped the Panthers reach the National semifinals in the past spring. During the past season, Pitt went 16-4-0 and came in second in overall national seed in the NCAA Tournament. In all 20 games, Washington recorded four goals and one assist, including a goal against Monmouth in the NCAA Tournament Second Round.

Washington was named Top Drawer Soccer’s Team of the Week, a team-best five times, and College Soccer News Team of the Week twice. He appeared in 32 matches at Rutgers and was a member of the 2017 Big Ten All-Freshman team.

Throughout 2016 and 2017, Washington was an inaugural member of the Atlanta United U-18s and was a part of the Academy’s first National Signing Day that included fellow Homegrown, Machop Chol. Washington also appeared in 30 matches, scored three goals, and led the team to the United States Soccer Development Academy (USSDA) Southeast Division title and No. 1 overall national seed.
