HOUSTON — Kathmandu Curry is a Nepali restaurant that serves vegetarian and Halal-friendly food. Located at 5711 Hillcroft Ave Suite A-6, they are open every Wednesday to Monday from 11.30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

This restaurant has only been serving food for two years, however, the chef has more than 30 years of experience in the culinary industry. This place is a great one for people looking for Halal and vegetarian food in the Houston area.

Kathmandu Curry serves a wide variety of Nepali and Himalayan cuisines ranging from Momo, a Nepali style dumpling served with tomato chutney, chicken-based dishes like chicken lolly-pop, lamb-based dishes such as goat Bhutan, to fish-based dishes such as maleku macha.

In addition to Nepali and Himalayan food, they also serve Indian dishes such as samosa, chicken tikka, tandoori, naan, and many more. For those who can’t stand spices, consider yourself warned as most of their dishes are spicy. Food in Kathmandu Curry is usually served with rice. You can choose either plain white rice, beaten rice, or biryani rice.

Many like the place for the authenticity of their food. For example, Danny J. wrote in his Yelp review: “This place has authentic, good, Nepali food… The thali was very similar to Indian thali…”

If you are up to something unique and happen to live in Houston, then Kathmandu Curry might be a great place to try. After all, there are not many Nepali restaurants in town, let alone the ones that stand true to the original taste like this one.
