A trio of women were spotted while riding on top of a police vehicle in Chicago. The department SUV was reportedly making a right-hand turn, but that didn’t seem to stop them.

WBBM-TV reported the unusual incident that is currently under investigation.

How did it all happen?

There’s not much information available about the incident. It is clear though that the women were on the vehicle’s hood and roof and the car number was 8289, as The Blaze notes. The date couldn’t be certified.

All around the car with the women on top there was a crowd of excited onlookers, who followed the police vehicle on foot, while several were recording the scene on their cellphones.

“The Chicago Police Department is aware of a video that surfaced on social media showing several women riding on a marked squad car,” Deputy Director Tom Ahern stated for WFLD-TV.

What were the reactions?

The video posted on social media gathered many comments, but the reactions are mixed. While for some the way the women behaved is unacceptable, others didn’t see anything wrong with it.

“Until white people start treating them like human beings instead of animals, until you start respecting them and seeing their dignity and worth...you will continue to get the results you're getting,” one user commented.
“Was the vehicle stolen? Did anyone get arrested or hurt? Nothing to see here, the weather was nice and everyone had a great time,” was another opinion.

“Yeah, how embarrassing that after literal centuries of police brutality, black people were allowed to dance and even delay their patrol by a few seconds,” a sarcastic user wrote.
“The person in the squad car needs to be disciplined. This shows very little and poor respect for everyone involved,” was how another commenter reacted.
“Some of us consider normalizing the decline of society to be a problem,” a user wrote.
“To the Chicago PD, why are you allowing this to happen?” a puzzled user asked.
