MTA bus driver attacked by passenger over loud music in the Bronx, suspect at large

(THE BRONX, N.Y.) A Metropolitan Transportation Authority bus driver was assaulted after asking a passenger to lower his music in the Bronx on Saturday, according to the New York Post.

The 66-year-old driver was behind the wheel of a BX41 along Webster Avenue near East Fordham Road in the Fordham section of the borough shortly before 5 p.m., when he approached the rider about the loud music, police said.

The commuter ignored the driver's request of lowering the music and struck him before exiting the bus and heading down Webster Avenue, the New York City Police Department said.

The driver was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital due to his injuries, per authorities.

Officials said the passenger was still on the loose as of Saturday night.
