Barbra Streisand is one of the most amazing artists that America gave to the world.

Her star still shines bright today.

I think everyone on earth who ever heard one of her famous songs fell in love, or at least - liked it.

Barbra won two Oscars, eight Grammy Awards, five Emmy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, a Special Tony Award, an AFI Award, and a Kennedy Award, and Peabody, and is one of the twelve artists who have won Oscars, Emmys, Grammys, and Tony Awards (at least one each) (source: Wikipedia).

She did all that and much more, with thirty-eight albums and nineteen films, many of them were musicals.

With her beautiful voice, strong and deep personality, and especially - the smart, classy style of her entire career, Barbra Streisand is one of America's major stars and Hollywood legends.

Since I started enjoying Hollywood's chest of treasures from its start, I didn't see many of Barbra Streisand's movies and musicals, but I was pleasantly surprised by the ones that I did manage to see.

It's all about culture and learning.

Below, you will find a few descriptions of the best films starring this incredible singer and actress.

Hopefully, they will brighten up your summer days.

Hello, Dolly! is a 1969 American romantic comedy musical film based on the 1964 Broadway production of the same name.

Directed by Gene Kelly and written and produced by Ernest Lehman, the film stars Barbra Streisand, Walter Matthau, Michael Crawford, Louis Armstrong (whose recording had become a number-one single), and many others.

In our times, theatres in the entire world still remake this beautiful story.

Make sure not to miss this famous production, as you will have plenty of adventurous fun, and laughs, while admiring the amazing, timeless performances of Barbra Streisand, Louis Armstrong, and all others.

The Way We Were is a 1973 American romantic drama film directed by Sydney Pollack and starring Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford.

It is probably my favorite Barbra Streisand and Robert Redford movie so far.

Because I love these two actors so much.

They were the model of the "young, charismatic, and beautiful" of those years. They had elegance and charisma.

More: I love the story, the plot, and how it was interpreted by them.

That beautiful melancholy mixed up with the young years of every person who dares to dream, to live, to fight for what they believe, and to fulfill things in life.

And to love, from the bottom of their hearts.

But in the end, the love is gone because that happens in life, sometimes.

And what remains instead - a beautiful friendship. Lots of nostalgic memories.

How many of us have gone through that, at least once, in life?

I just can't describe the mixed feelings that this movie has awakened, you have to see it for yourselves.

A box-office success, the film was nominated for several awards and won the Academy Awards for Best Original Dramatic Score and Best Original Song for the theme song "The Way We Were".

It was included on AFI's 100 Years...100 Passions of the top 100 greatest love stories in American cinema. (source: Wikipedia)

A Star Is Born is a 1976 American musical romantic drama film directed by Frank Pierson. (source: Wikipedia)

It is a remake of a 1937 original starring Janet Gaynor and Fredric March, which had also been adapted in 1954 as a musical starring Judy Garland and James Mason, and again in 2018 with Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper.

The love theme "Evergreen" is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful songs ever made, so if you are not going to see the film, at least go listen to the soundtrack.

It's stunning and makes you dream with your eyes wide open.

Even if in its release the film got mixed appreciations, I do advise it, as it has that unique Barbra Streisand authenticity of all the other movies.

It is a lot a story about life as it is, with its ups and downs. Nothing fake, no false beliefs, just living a love story and a marriage at its fullest.

Sometimes, I do think that the best in Barbra's movies, besides her voice, acting skills, and beautiful songs, is the fact that they took a life story and presented it just as it happens in life, with a mix of elegance and realism, with powerful expression skills, simplicity, and joy.

This is why you must not miss the magic of Barbra Streisand.

They don't really do that sort of movies anymore, or at least - they don't have that legendary aura that made Hollywood great.
