12-year-old, 25-year-old shot over the weekend in the Bronx, suspect at large

(THE BRONX, N.Y.) The New York City Police Department said a 12-year-old girl and a 25-year-old man were shot in the Bronx on Saturday, according to PIX 11.

The girl suffered a gunshot wound to her left ankle and the man was struck in the right side of his chest on Wythe Place near East 171st Street just before 6 p.m. The two victims were transported to a local hospital after the shooting.

Police distributed footage of three men as they bolted from the scene of the shooting.

Officials are looking for help in identifying the suspects in the shooting.

According to NYPD data, the city has seen 594 shooting incidents across the five boroughs, leaving 678 citizens injured. At the same time in 2020, the city saw 352 shootings with 402 victims, per PIX 11.
