This food truck favorite serves a Philly classic with a twist.
Finding these delicious sandwiches used to be a moving target, with locals keeping track of where the truck was parked using Facebook pages or posts shared on other social media accounts.
Well, here’s some good news. They’ve settled into a permanent (for now) location.
The popular Tres’ House of Cheesesteaks has moved into a brick-and-mortar: at what used to be the location of Goofy’s Sports Bar at 8519 15th Ave NW. Seattle, WA.
It’s in the Crown Hill neighborhood.
Tremaine Battle, the chef, and owner and announced the news earlier this month.
They are creating a new menu and will be staying open later in the evening. They’re gearing up to serve a new crowd, especially during football season.
Each cheesesteak is served in a hoagie-style bun. The bread is substantial but soft. It is strong enough to support the chopped, cheesy meat in place.
The Tres’ Caliente has a bit of heat. It’s a perfect bun filled with 8 0z shaved seasoned steak, grilled onion, jalapeno, peppers, spicy seasoning, chipotle mayo, and pepper jack cheese,
The meat is moist and chopped to the perfect size for chewing.
The loaded Cheese Fries are a hit. There’s a layer of hot crispy golden brown french fries at the bottom, layered with a drizzle of cheese, topped off with a combination of meat, onions, and peppers.
They also serve a variety of delicious Steak Burgers on a brioche bun. The selection includes a bacon bleu cheese steak burger, classic steak burger, mushroom steak burger, pulled bacon cheesesteak burger, Texas steak burger, and veggie burger.
Tre launched Tres’ House of Cheesesteaks in 2019.
He wanted to share his passion for authentic Philly cheesesteaks with the West Coast.
The food truck used to make the rounds throughout northern Seattle, including a regular spot at Greenwood’s Lantern Brewing.
It’s been retired, but might make appearances for special occasions.
They’re delighted to offer an extended menu, which includes the traditional cheesesteaks, but also includes pizza cheesesteaks to pork belly versions, as well as a selection of burgers, loaded fries, and mozzarella sticks.
They’re excited to move into the expanded space and have room to be more creative with the menu items.
It’s not just the food. These entrepreneurs are active in their community as well.
They were recent participants in a Youth Web Design pilot program, which provided Black youth in Seattle with work experience in the field.
This initiative provided an opportunity for 16 students to learn website design at no cost, by connecting with local minority-owned businesses to create or improve their web presence.
The program was a joint effort between the Seattle Office of Economic Development and the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle. Sixteen students learned how to design new websites for some of Seattle’s Black-owned businesses.

There are plans to build a large apartment complex in the location in the future. The development would take over several properties on the northwest corner of NW 85th St and 15th Ave NW. The plan calls for a 7-story, 194-unit apartment building with retail, an office, and a restaurant. Parking for 81 vehicles is in the project proposal
Maybe by then, Tres’ House of Cheesesteaks will be large enough to stay.
