In case you missed it, I recently posted an article all about my favorite parks in New York City - where I will be spending ALL of my free time! So if you haven’t already read that article definitely go check it out! Since I’ve written that article, I’ve just thought of so many more parks in the city that are an absolute must visit in the summertime.

So here is part 2 of my article of all of the best parks in NYC. I just love to spend time outside in the summer and honestly, the parks are a great way to feel like you have escaped the city without actually going anywhere! And parks are great because they are free! I know I am usually on a budget, since New York City can be so expensive, but even when I am not on a tight budget, I always love to spend my time doing things that are completely free!

So with all of that said, here’s some more of my favorite NYC parks that you should definitely visit this summer:

Riverside Park

First up on this list is Riverside Park. It’s located on the upper west side just along the Hudson River. This park is the perfect underrated Manhattan park and it’s perfect for long walks and exercise. And of course since it’s right on the water, you get tons of gorgeous views! This park is filled with playgrounds, courts and fields for different sports, pathways to walk along, and more, which makes this the perfect park to spend the day in with friends and family.

Battery Park

Next up is Battery Park which is located at the very tip of Manhattan. I love visiting Battery Park, again for some incredible views right on the water! This park also has some of the best views of the Statue of Liberty, so especially if you are just visiting NYC for a few days and don’t have time to take the ferry out to Ellis Island and actually visit the Statue of Liberty, the view from Battery Park is definitely a must!

The Highline

Now, this next park isn’t necessarily a park that you would typically think of in the normal sense, but once again still worth a visit! The highline is a walkway located in Soho, Manhattan. The Highline was built on an old railroad track, that’s up a couple of stories above the ground, so you still get that escape from the city feel! The Highline is a beautiful walk, with art, gardens, small shops and food vendors, it’s the perfect place to spend the morning or afternoon.

Fort Greene Park

Next up is Fort Greene Park located in Brooklyn. Fort Greene is a beautiful park with tons of things to do. There’s tons of gardens and grassy fields, playgrounds, basketball courts, tennis courts, walking pathways, and more!

Queensbridge Park

And last but certainly not least one of my all time favorite parks is the Queensbridge Park. This park is located in Long Island City, Queens, and it’s right on the water, so you already know it’s got some beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline. This park has tons of walking paths, grassy patches for picnics, tons of places to play sports, and more!
