(ATLANTA, Ga.) After Atlanta’s food truck program expansion, the city is getting a new food truck experience and it debuted on the Westside of Atlanta this week.

Dubbed as both a food truck and artist experience, “What the Truck” is the city’s newest food truck park located at 1060 Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway. The park opened Friday and celebrated with a grand opening from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The grand opening featured live music, live mural paintings and games for the public to enjoy, along with food truck vendors Big Mike’s Tacos and Bankhead Seafood.

Following the opening event, the park will operate Thursdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. On Fridays and Saturdays, the park will feature a local DJ and attendees will be charged a $5 entrance fee.

The new venture is a collaborative effort between Tenth Street Ventures and Wolf Ideas Group. Wolf Ideas Group was founded by artist Tyree Smith, owner of Artlanta Gallery and C.H.A.C.E. Village in Chattahoochee Hills.

In a prepared statement, Smith spoke about the new park saying, “Being able to bring people, food and art together along the westside Atlanta BeltLine is a dream come true.”

“Our goal is to embrace the neighborhood and foster an environment for current and future artists to explore their craft.”

What the Truck is the latest food truck development in Atlanta and now joins the Atlanta Food Truck Park on Howell Mill Road and Triton Yards in Capitol View.

In addition to new food trucks, a traveling "village" for mobile food vendors will be coming to the city in the near future.
