ATLANTA — The City of Atlanta’s Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs announced Wednesday that the 43rd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival (AJF) would be returning on September 5 and September 6 over the Labor Day Weekend.

The festival, which was supposed to be held during Memorial Day weekend, was previously rescheduled out of caution due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The lineup will largely feature the same artists that were announced in 2020, with a variety of jazz sounds and stylings from new talent such as Brenda Nicole Moorer, to seasoned performers like Patti Austin and Archie Shepp.

More than 15 artists and musicians will entertain festival-goers on two stages in Piedmont Park: the Oak Hill Stage and Meadow Stage. This year, festival-goers can also participate in a VIP Lounge experience at the Oak Hill Stage.

The 43rd annual Atlanta Jazz Festival will also provide an opportunity for attendees to participate in a _Jazz 101_ workshop, free and open to the public, covering a broad spectrum of topics designed to intrigue, entertain, educate and inform the audiences.

“We’re looking forward to hosting a great Festival this year with a variety of established and rising jazz musicians,” said Camille Russell Love, Executive director, Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs. “We’re thrilled that the Festival will be back in 2021 and hope that everyone is able to join us on Labor Day Weekend for a safe and entertaining event,” she added.

To celebrate the return of the Atlanta Jazz Festival this Labor Day Weekend, from today (June 4), festival-goers can purchase official merchandise through their online store at shop.antlantafestivals.com.

The festival will adhere to all Covid-19 guidelines determined by Georgia and the City of Atlanta. Updates will be announced on the Atlanta Jazz Festival website and social media channels.
